Children of the Sea is a One Piece fanzine centered around the familial bonds of the Whitebeard Pirates.
compensation
We hope to be able to compensate each contributor with a free digital copy as well as a full bundle of the zine. After covering production and shipping, contributors will also have the option to receive a portion of their profit, or donating it to the charity which will be voted upon later. We want to ensure all our contributors are compensated fairly for their hard work, however, minor contributors will not have the option to receive any monetary compensation.

Contributor GUIDELINES
Contributors chosen will be expected to create one new full illustration or complete fic for the zine.
You may apply for more than one position ( for example as an artist and merch artist ) but if chosen you will be assigned for only one role.
You will be required to provide a mock pitch in your application. It does not have to be your final pitch but will help us envision what you will create for the zine if chosen.
This zine will have no shipping content and no nsfw content.
Also please only submit sfw work in your samples.
Previous zine experience is not required and you will not be judged according to it.
artist requirements
☠️ Please provide three of your best finished work.
☠️ At least 2 must include backgrounds.
☠️ Previous One Piece art is not required but preferred.
☠️ Link to your portfolio (could be google drive or social media)
☠️ 1 to 3 pitches of what you plan to draw.
☠️ We will be looking at style, composition, anatomy and colors.
☠️ Will be required to create one full illustration for the zine.
Writer requirements
☠️ Please provide three samples of your best work.
☠️ Samples need to be around 2.5k ( if you're a few hundred above word limit, it is okay )
☠️ At least 1 has to be for One Piece.
☠️ At least 1 must be a complete work.
☠️ Aside from complete work, samples may be excerpts or chapters ( with preference to chapters )
☠️ Link to your portfolio ( preferably ao3 )
☠️ 1 to 3 pitches of what you plan to write.
☠️ Will be required to create one complete work of 2.5k words.
merch artist requirements
☠️ Please provide three pieces of merch / merch art you created.
☠️ Previous One Piece art is not required but preferred.
☠️ Link to your portfolio (could be google drive or social media)
☠️ 1 to 3 pitches of what you plan to do for your merch piece.
☠️ You will be asked what type of merch you wish to create.
☠️ We will be looking at style, composition and colors and how well it translates into small pieces of merch.

Q. Is this zine for charity or profit?
The zine will be for profit with a percentage donated to charity. The specific charity is still to be determined at the moment.
Q. Will ships be allowed?
No, we would prefer this zine to not have any shipping and focus solely on the familial bonds of the Whitebeard Pirates.
Q. Do we need experience to apply?
Experience is not necessary, as long as you are able to provide an illustration / fic for the zine. Contributors will be chosen based on the quality of their work and not any prior experience.
Q. Can we include allies of the Whitebeard Pirates Pirates?
As the allies of the Whitebeard Pirates are considered part of their family, we will be allowing pieces of them as well.
Q. How many contributors will be there?
We will be having 35 artists, 8 writers and 5 merch artists!
Q. What are your requirements for artists?
Artists will be required to create a single page or double spread full illustration at a quality of 300 dpi centered around the Whitebeard Pirates.
Q. What are your requirements for writers?
Writers will be required to write a fic of 2,500 words centered around the Whitebeard Pirates.
Q. What are your requirements for merch artists?
Merch artists will be required to create a piece or more of merch centered around the Whitebeard Pirates, the piece must be at a quality of 300 dpi.
Q. Will collaborations be allowed?
Yes, if contributors wish to collaborate they may do so, but the mods won't be assigning collaborators themselves.
Q. Is there going to be NSFW?
No. We are strictly not allowing any nsfw pitches or works.
